The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa , Oba Olufemi Agunsoye, has called on Nigerians, particularly the Ijesa people, to engage in fervent prayers to overcome the numerous challenges facing the society.
The monarch made this appeal while addressing journalists during the fifth synod of the Anglican Communion, Ijesa North Diocese, held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Ere-Ijesa.
Highlighting the importance of combining prayer with hard work, Oba Agunsoye emphasized that diligence and dedication are crucial, as the Bible teaches to “work and pray.”
He expressed that the aspirations for the continued growth and development of Ijesa land and Nigeria can only be realized through earnest prayers and committed effort.
The royal father also praised the Ijesa North Diocese, under the leadership of Rt Reverend Isaac Oluyamo, for granting Ere-Ijesa the privilege of hosting this year’s synod noting that this decision would significantly promote peace, progress, development, and tranquility in the city.
Oba Agunsoye’s remarks underscored the vital role of faith and industriousness in navigating the country’s current challenges and striving towards a brighter future for Ijesa land and the nation as a whole.
