Former Osun Speaker Timothy Owoeye Ordained as Minister in Charge of C&S Church, Installed as Chairman of Ijesa District Council

Elder Apostle (Rt. Hon.) Timothy Owoeye, former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, has been ordained as the Minister in Charge of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Beulah Oke-Iro Parish in Ilesa and installed as Chairman of the Ijesa Church District Council.

The ordination ceremony, which took place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, was a vibrant and spiritual event led by His Most Eminence, Most Elder Apostle Prophet Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao, who also performed the anointment.

The event was held at the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria and Overseas, Beulah Oke-Iro Parish Headquarters, Ijesa District Council.

During the ceremony, several others were also ordained as Apostles, Pastors, Mothers in Israel, Lady Leaders, Prophets, and Prophetesses.

The sermon, delivered by His Eminence Elder Apostle Samson Odesanmi, emphasized the importance of appointing a dedicated priest to shepherd the congregation. “God directed that a priest should be ordained over His congregation, so they may not be like sheep without a shepherd,” he noted.

Apostle Odesanmi highlighted Owoeye’s unwavering dedication to his faith and duties, even during his tenure as Speaker. “While he was the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, he never left the work of God nor made excuses. He served dutifully and faithfully, and God has now elevated him for his devotion,” Odesanmi said.

He also recounted an instance where Owoeye prioritized his role in the ministry over attending to a high-profile visitor, demonstrating his commitment to his faith above all else.

As the new Minister in Charge of C&S Beulah Parish and Chairman of the Ijesa Church District Council, Owoeye was encouraged to maintain his dedication, with a reminder to all leaders to avoid amassing wealth at the expense of their followers. “God is watching, and each of us will stand before Him in judgment,” Odesanmi warned.

The ceremony attracted prominent figures, including Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, wife of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Speaker of the Osun State 8th Assembly; Dr. Mrs. Sheknat Oyebamiji; Chief Akinwande Akinola Sawe of Ilesa; Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal, Osun APC Chairman; Chief Kunle Odeyemi, Ijesa Zone APC leader; Hon. L. B. Ayeni; Hon. Kamal Oyedele; Engr. Remi Omiwaiye; Mr. Dayo Adewole; Hon. Wale Akerele; Dr. Thomas Ogungbangbe; as well as traditional rulers, chiefs, and representatives of various groups and societies.
