Two Remanded in Ilesa Correctional Center for Burglary and Stealing

The Chief Magistrate Court 4 in Osogbo has ordered the remand of two suspects, Wale Sodiq (41) and Abiodun Olohunwa (45), at the Ilesa Correctional Center over allegations of burglary and theft.

The suspects were arraigned on Friday, November 29, 2024, on three counts of conspiracy, burglary, and theft, following their involvement in the theft of five cartons of tiles, five bags of Dangote Cement, and a tiles cutting machine, valued at N186,000, from a property in Ogo-Oluwa Area, Zone 2, Ede, Osun State.

The Osun Amotekun Corps, acting on a complaint, arrested the suspects after tracking them to their hideout, where they were found in possession of the stolen items. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted to having committed similar offenses in the past.

In court, Magistrate Daramola ordered their remand in Ilesa Correctional Center and adjourned the case to January 24, 2025, for further hearing.

The Osun Amotekun Corps, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Yusuf Idowu Abass, commended the operatives for their swift action and reassured the public of their commitment to curbing criminal activities in the state.
