Dear All,
1. Last week, I was invited to assess some primary school students in a town around Ilesha township. The town is Iyinta on the way to Iwara from Ilesha.
2. The invitation came from old friend who has desire to better the lot of people in his community especially the life of the indigent pupils attending Iyinta Primary School.
3. Most of these pupils couldn’t come to school for many reasons which include lack of school uniforms, sandals even some due to poor feeding. Some come to school with torn uniforms and without sandals.
4. A friend who decides to remain anonymous decided to finance school uniforms and sandals for these pupils. So we began last week. The friend installed solar lights in the Iyinta community months ago, he shall not experience darkness.
5. I bought the uniforms, sandals, took tailors to the school to take their measurements and work began last week.
6. To God’s glory, we are able to deliver the uniforms and the sandals to over 50 pupils and still have some pairs left. The remaining is to encourage other parents who will want to register pupils.
7. Another Chief from the town gave each parent who has pupil in that school N5,000 each as support. We appreciate the gesture.
8. Also supported by another Chief Risa Of Iyinta who shared exercise books for the pupils. At least to encourage them.
9. Two lessons learned: we all know what governance in Nigeria means, secondly we should assume that we owe our community a lot to safe life. Not because we want to take over the responsibilities of government but for the sake of the pupils.
10. Majority of us attended these primary schools in our Communities, although we can say that was when God was in the hearts of politicians not now that demons are better off. If not, schools especially primary schools won’t be that bad. Some buildings have collapsed. Even the headmistress set her office outside because the building may collapse anytime.
11. May God bless the sponsor, co-sponsors and their families. They shall be remembered for goodness in life. Appreciation 💜
Yours Publicly,Oni Gbolabo John (Ph.D.)
