The Ijesaland Development Fund (IDF) continues to gain widespread support as artisans, traders, and other stakeholders rally behind the initiative led by Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi, Chairman of the Ijesaland Community Development Assembly (ICDA).
The IDF aims to raise ₦1 billion annually for the development of Ijesaland, offering ten tiers of contribution to accommodate all economic classes.
Contribution Categories include
1. ₦1,000 x 150,000 contributors = ₦150,000,000
2. ₦2,500 x 50,000 contributors = ₦125,000,000
3. ₦5,000 x 20,000 contributors = ₦100,000,000
4. ₦10,000 x 10,000 contributors = ₦100,000,000
5. ₦25,000 x 4,000 contributors = ₦100,000,000
6. ₦50,000 x 2,000 contributors = ₦100,000,000
7. ₦100,000 x 1,000 contributors = ₦100,000,000
8. ₦250,000 x 300 contributors = ₦75,000,000
9. ₦500,000 x 150 contributors = ₦75,000,000
10. ₦1,000,000 x 75 contributors = ₦75,000,000
During a stakeholder meeting at the Atakumosa Market Hall, Asiwaju Fasuyi highlighted the importance of everyone contributing to the fund, ensuring their names are registered in the IDF records as a legacy for future generations.
He explained that a committee comprising contributors would be formed to oversee the utilization of funds based on the needs assessment of the six Local Government Areas in Ijesaland.
At another gathering with artisans at the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre, Chief Fasuyi urged participants to spread awareness about the initiative during the one-year sensitization campaign, which will culminate in the commencement of fund collection in January 2026.
Traders at the Atakumosa Market appealed to the ICDA to address the issue of vendors operating at unauthorized locations such as the Ilesa Roundabout, Adeti, and Araromi.
They requested that these vendors be encouraged to return to the main market to fully utilize its facilities.
