
The Ijesa North Council of Obas has inaugurated a new president to lead the traditional council for the next two years.
His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, Abikehin-Ekun II, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa, was formally installed during a well-attended and dignified ceremony.
Oba Agunsoye took over leadership from the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Oba Adediran Adeyemi, who successfully concluded his two-year tenure.
The peaceful transition underscored unity and a shared commitment to progress among Ijesa North monarchs.


In his acceptance remarks, Oba Agunsoye expressed deep appreciation to his predecessor for promoting cooperation and harmony within the council.
He emphasized that unity among royal fathers is essential to advancing development at the grassroots.



The new President of Ijesa North Monarchs who appealed to the Osun State Government, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, to urgently intervene in the reconstruction of the collapsed bridge linking Eree-Ijesa and Ilahun-Ijesa stressed that residents of the two communities have suffered greatly for over nine months due to the damaged infrastructure that has disrupted connectivity and livelihoods.
Oba Agunsoye commended the state government for its swift action in restoring peace to Esa-Oke, following a recent communal crisis.
He lauded the efforts of security operatives and government agencies for responding promptly and ensuring order.
He called on fellow monarchs to continue upholding the values of unity, peace, and integrity.
He warned against illegal gold mining and boundary disputes, urging royal fathers to lead by example and work collectively for a better future.
