Distinguished Federal Lawmakers,
I write this open letter as a concerned son of Ijesaland, speaking the minds of countless constituents who believe our voices must be heard. We acknowledge your election as the trusted representatives of Osun East Senatorial District, Ijesa North and Ijesa South Federal Constituencies respectively, a mandate given to you by the people to speak on our behalf, attract federal presence to our land, and ensure our welfare is prioritized in the national scheme of development.
Sadly, the reality on ground in Ijesaland today does not reflect what true federal representation should look like. Our communities are still plagued with poor infrastructure, limited federal projects, and lack of sustainable development initiatives. The truth is that there is very little federal presence to show for the years of representation we have had. Many of our people feel that their voices are not being heard in Abuja, and that the dividends of democracy are bypassing our land.
Dear Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, Honourable Busayo Oluwole Oke and Honourable Emmanuel Olusanya Omirin, this is a call to action. We need far more than occasional constituency visits, short empowerment programs, or the distribution of petty items and cash gifts. While such gestures may offer temporary relief to a few individuals, they do not solve the fundamental problems facing our constituencies.
Ijesaland is in urgent need of tangible federal projects: Good roads that link our towns and villages and make trade, commerce, and daily transportation easier.
Well-equipped health facilities to provide quality medical care to our people.
Better educational infrastructure to give our children and youth a fighting chance in today’s competitive world.
Youth employment and empowerment programs that create real opportunities rather than handouts.
Electricity and water projects that improve quality of life and boost small-scale businesses.
Support for farmers and traders to revitalize agriculture, our region’s traditional backbone, and grow our local economy.
Another major gap we must point out is the lack of genuine engagements with the people. Town hall meetings, interactive sessions, and proper constituency consultations are rarely organized.
Without listening to the people and involving them in decision-making, no representative can truly claim to speak for them.
We urge you to emulate lawmakers in other parts of the country who are bringing federal government projects back home , projects that transform their constituencies and leave behind a visible legacy.
Our expectation is that your tenure will mark a turning point in Ijesaland’s history, not another missed opportunity.
While we acknowledge that some efforts have been made in certain areas, the majority of our people still feel left behind. This must change if representation is to be meaningful. The people are watching closely, and posterity will judge every leader based on what they did or failed to do for their people.
Efforts made for our teeming youths to be gainfully employed to the federal parastatals, paramilitary and civil service must be well applauded but we implore you to do more so as to reduce joblessness amongst the Youths.
Distinguished Honourable Members, you have been given a golden opportunity to rewrite the story of Ijesaland. We call on you to use your influence in the National Assembly to bring lasting development, to ensure our fair share of federal projects, and to give our land a new identity of progress and prosperity.
The time to act is now.

Respectfully,
Prince Sunday Adewusi Concerned Citizen of Ijesaland
