NUC Approves 12 New Academic Programmes for University of Ilesa

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for twelve new academic programmes at the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), Osun State, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a statement signed by Babatunde Fanowopo, Senior Assistant Registrar, Corporate Affairs and Information Unit, the newly approved programmes include MBBS Medicine and Surgery, B.Agriculture, B.Sc. Agribusiness, B.Sc. Fisheries and Aquaculture, B.Sc. Agricultural Economics, B.Sc. Animal Science, B.Sc. Crop Science, B.Sc. Soil Science, B.A. Chinese Studies, B.A. Modern European Language (French Language), B.Ed. Early Childhood Education, B.Ed. Special Needs Education.

The statement described the development as “a remarkable milestone and a testament to the profound impact of Senator Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, on the university’s growth and transformation.”

He further congratulated the Vice-Chancellor, management, staff, and the entire university community on the successful accreditation and expansion of the institution’s academic offerings.

The approval marks another significant step in the University of Ilesa’s mission to provide diverse and high-quality educational opportunities, further positioning it as a fast-growing citadel of learning in Osun State.
