The Planning Committee of the Iwude Ijesa Festival has issued a stern warning against the display of political party signs, posters, or any form of branded political materials during the 2025 Iwude Ijesa Festival and Ijesa Unity Carnival scheduled to hold on Saturday and Sunday.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Afolabi Igbaroola, the committee also cautioned against the chanting of political slogans or any activities capable of introducing partisan sentiments into the celebration, stressing that the festival is strictly a cultural and unity-driven event for all sons and daughters of Ijesaland.

Chief Igbaroola emphasized that the Iwude Ijesa Festival and Ijesa Unity Carnival are meant to promote peace, cultural heritage, and communal harmony, noting that political expressions could undermine the essence of the celebration.

He assured residents and visitors that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure a colourful, orderly, and peaceful celebration, while urging all participants to comply with the guidelines and cooperate with security agencies and festival officials for the success of the event.

The committee further called on the general public to celebrate responsibly and uphold the values of unity and togetherness which the Iwude Ijesa Festival represents.
