All is set for the official release of a culturally significant musical tribute to commemorate the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland.
The song, composed and performed by renowned cultural music icon, Otunba Femi Fadipe, popularly known as Femolancaster, is more than just a piece of music.
According to him, it is a historic anthem that seeks to immortalize a glorious chapter in Ijesa history through melody, language, and heritage.
With production now in its final stages, anticipation is building across Ijesaland and among the global Ijesa diaspora for what many have already described as a royal anthem of pride and unity.
The project is being powered by UK-based philanthropist and media strategist Prince Sunday Adewusi, with Engr. Seyifunmi serving as the project’s producer and sound engineer.
According to Femolancaster, the forthcoming tribute is not just a personal project, but a contribution to the preservation of tradition and the celebration of Ijesa identity.
Speaking ahead of the release, he said: “This is a special gift to Ijesaland, to our revered monarch, and to every son and daughter of OWA OBOKUN ADIMULA. It’s a record of our heritage, our strength, and our unity. I wanted a sound that resonates with tradition but also connects with the present and future generations.”
The song captures the essence of royalty, honour, and continuity paying homage not only to the new Owa Obokun Adimula but also to the cultural institutions and communal spirit that define Ijesaland.
Owa Haastrup’s coronation marked a new era for Ijesaland, and this tribute is designed to enshrine the occasion in memory, a sonic document of one of the most important transitions in recent times.
Beyond the palace, the song acknowledges the vibrancy of Ijesa socio-cultural groups, community leaders, and the enduring pride of Ijesa people both at home and abroad.
The team behind the project has made an open call to cultural lovers, traditional institutions, media houses, and stakeholders across Ijesaland and beyond to support the promotion and spread of this important work.
The release is expected to be accompanied by a series of promotional campaigns, including radio features, online streaming rollout, and live performances at key traditional and public events.
