ASIWAJU FASUYI @70! A RARE GEMBy Prof. Taoheed Adedoja

Spread the love

As Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi marks his 70th birthday, it is only fitting to celebrate a man whose life has been defined by excellence, integrity, and uncommon dedication to humanity.

Since my days as Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) between 2004 and 2006, Yinka Fasuyi has stood out as a symbol of professionalism, honesty, and competence. Through his leadership at Supreme Management Training and Consultancy Services, where he serves as Chairman, he demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of human capacity and public service efficiency.

Beyond his professional prowess, Yinka Fasuyi embodies the true essence of friendship. I vividly recall the get-together he organized in my honour upon my assumption of office as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in September 2010 — a gesture that reflected his genuine joy in celebrating the success of others. It is in his nature to uplift those around him, a quality that has earned him the admiration and respect of many.

Indeed, Asiwaju Fasuyi’s life and character perfectly fit the Yoruba cultural ideal of an Omoluabi — a person of noble virtues. He is a man of integrity, respectfulness, responsibility, compassion, humility, loyalty, self-discipline, strong work ethic, emotional intelligence, and courage. Each of these qualities has defined his journey and solidified his legacy as a dependable leader, friend, and mentor.

As he turns 70, I join countless others in celebrating this rare gem — a man whose impact transcends borders and whose values continue to inspire generations. May the Almighty continue to bless Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi with many more years of good health, peace, and prosperity.
