Joy and celebration filled Erinmo-Ijesa on Wednesday as the town welcomed one of its pride daughters, Nigerian visual artist Miss Abidemi Omopariola, who recently set a Guinness World Record for the longest marathon drawing portrait.

Miss Omopariola, who hails from Erinmo-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area, was received at the palace of the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, along with the Kaabiesi, the Elerinmo-In-Council, religious leaders, students of Erinmo-Ijesa Grammar School, and a large gathering of residents.

The record was achieved in Sunderland, United Kingdom, where she completed 90 hours of continuous portrait drawing in the individual category—a feat never attempted before.

In her remarks, Miss Omopariola expressed gratitude to the people of Erinmo-Ijesa for the warm reception.

She attributed her achievement to years of dedication, hard work, and divine guidance even as she encouraged school children to pursue their dreams regardless of background and urged parents to support their children fully.

The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, Oba Dr. Odunayo Ajayi, praised Miss Omopariola, describing her as a pride of Erinmo-Ijesa and a distinguished ambassador of Ijesaland, Osun State, and Nigeria.

During the event, the Kaabiesi, Oba Arowotawaya II, and religious leaders took turns offering royal blessings and prayers to the Guinness World Record holder, celebrating her remarkable accomplishment.
