Ijesa People Salutes Dame Erelu Olusola Obada on Her 73rd Birthday: Celebrating a Trailblazer in Governance and Development of Ijesaland

Ijesa News and Love Nigeria Magazine Publisher, Sunday Adewusi, has congratulated Her Excellency, Dame Erelu Olusola Obada CON KJW, as she marks her 73rd birthday today.

Dame Erelu Olusola Obada, who served as the Deputy Governor of Osun State from 2003 to 2010, is celebrated for her significant contributions to good governance, development in Osun State, and her impactful contributions to the growth of Ijesaland and beyond.

In a congratulatory statement released on behalf of sons and daughters of Ijesaland both home and abroad, the Media Mogul praised Dame Obada for her exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to public service, highlighting her tenure as Deputy Governor, which was marked by numerous initiatives that advanced the progress and prosperity of Osun State and specifically Ijesaland.

According to him, her outstanding performance in this role earned her national recognition and led to her historic appointment by then-President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the first woman to serve as Minister of Defence in Nigeria and Africa in 2012.

“Dame Erelu Olusola Obada’s tenure as the Deputy Governor of Osun State from 2003 to 2010 remains a beacon of good governance and remarkable development not only in Osun State but also across Nigeria,” Sunday Adewusi stated.

“Her unparalleled brilliance and dedication to public service earned her the distinction of becoming the first woman to serve as Minister of Defence in the history of Nigeria and Africa.”

Sunday Adewusi emphasized that Dame Obada’s legacy is characterized by her commitment to excellence and her pioneering spirit, which continues to inspire many.
