LET’S HONOUR LATE OWA AROMOLARAN II, LET’S UPHOLD IJESA CULTURE & TRADITION.

Spread the love

It’s not a gain saying the fact that the vacant stool of Ijesaland has generated many actions and reactions from the Sons and Daughters of Ijesaland, and even beyond.

Princes of Bilaro ruling house of Ijesaland are springing up almost on a daily basis to fill the exalted throne of Ijesaland as we continue to mourn the departure of the late Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II.

Undoubtedly, Ijesaland as one of the leading Kingdoms in Yorubaland is rich in culture and tradition. Eligible Princes must respect the immediate past Owa Obokun, this is a wrong period for any of them to lobby to be installed as Loja of any town/village, let’s uphold our culture and tradition.

To the general public, being a Loja has never being a prequisite to become Owa Obokun of Ijesaland. An existing Loja or an eligible Prince can contest for the throne and where a Prince is chosen, he will be made a Loja of a town/village for at least seven (7) days just as the case of the late Owa Aromolaran II who was made the Loja of Kajola-Ijesa for a period of seven (7) days while his predecessor, Oba Peter Adeniran Agunlejika II was Loja of Oke-bode for fifteen (15) years before he ascended the exalted throne of Ijesaland.

As concerned Stakeholder of Ijesaland, I implore the interested Princes to relax till the mourning of the late Owa Aromolaran II is over while I humbly appeal to the Political Leaders throughout the federation to let the Ijesa Kingmakers select the next Owa through the use of Ifa oracle. It’s a time to write a new chapter of Ijesa history, we should not endeavor to make any costly mistake.
