
The Arapate of Ilesa, High Chief Oluwagbenga Fadunsin Igbarola Arapate has extended deep appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Owa Ajimoko III, for the royal blessing and fatherly support granted to him during this year’s Obalogun Day celebration.
Speaking after the event, High Chief Arapate described the Owa’s encouragement and support as a priceless honour that continues to strengthen the cultural heritage and unity of Ijesaland.
He offered heartfelt prayers for Kabiyesi, wishing him long life, sound health, divine wisdom, and a peaceful reign that will bring lasting progress to the entire Ijesa nation.
High Chief Arapate also expressed sincere gratitude to traditional rulers and chiefs across Ijesaland who graced the occasion, acknowledging that their presence elevated the significance of the celebration. He noted that their collective support reflects the deep-rooted respect, harmony, and cultural pride that bind Ijesa communities together.




The Arapate extended appreciation to all sons and daughters of Ijesaland—both at home and in the diaspora—who participated in the colourful event.
According to him, their turnout reaffirmed the commitment of the Ijesa people to preserve their history, celebrate their identity, and uphold the legacy handed down by their forefathers.
While describing Obalogun Day as a festival of heritage, bravery, and communal strength, High Chief Arapate urged the people of Ijesaland to continue supporting and attending the annual celebration.
He stressed that keeping the tradition alive is a collective responsibility, noting that Obalogun Day has become an important symbol of unity, cultural continuity, and community progress.
