The lawmaker representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency in Osun State, Hon. Sanya Omirin, has expressed gratitude to his colleagues in the National Assembly for the passage of the bill establishing the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ilesa.
Hon. Omirin described the development as a major milestone that would enhance quality healthcare delivery across Ijesaland and beyond.
He noted that the upgrade of the Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, to a Federal Medical Centre would not only expand access to medical services but also attract more resources, personnel, and infrastructure to Ijesaland.
According to him, the passage of the bill by both chambers of the National Assembly underscores the Federal Government’s readiness to transform the historic Wesley Guild Hospital into a fully-fledged federal health institution.
The lawmaker, while commending the unity of purpose displayed by all Ijesa representatives, appealed to sons and daughters of Ijesaland to remain supportive and prayerful as the bill awaits presidential assent.
He further urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sign the bill into law and ensure adequate funding for the hospital’s upgrade, saying such a move would mark a new era in the delivery of world-class medical services to the people of Osun State.
