Osun State Council of Obas Urges Federal Government to Fix “Death Trap” Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Express Road

The Osun State Council of Obas has appealed to the Federal Government to urgently repair the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Express Road, which they described as a “death trap.”

This is contained in a communique signed by the council’s secretary, Oba Odunayo Ajayi Arowotawaya, the Elerinmo of Erinmo, In addition to road repairs, the Council emphasized the critical role of the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Express Road in facilitating commerce and travel across the South Western region.

The appeal comes amidst growing concerns over the road’s deteriorating condition, impacting both safety and economic activities in the area.

The Council, under the chairmanship of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, emphasized the importance of this major road in the South Western region and called for swift intervention.

In related news, Hon. Adebisi Abiodun, the Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Nomadic Affairs, assured traditional rulers of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s commitment to resolving the ongoing crisis between Fulani herders and farmers in the state.

He discussed this issue during the Council’s monthly meeting, focusing on finding solutions to the frequent clashes.
