
The Alamuye of Amuye-Faforiji, Oba Adebayo Faforiji, has described the ascension of Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, AJIMOKO III, as Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland as the beginning of a transformative era for the ancient kingdom.
In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Thursday, Oba Faforiji congratulated the new Owa and expressed strong confidence in his ability to steer Ijesaland toward lasting unity, development, and cultural renewal.
According to the Alamuye of Amuye-Faforiji, Owa Haastrup’s distinguished pedigree, wealth of experience, and unwavering dedication to the values and aspirations of the Ijesa people make him uniquely positioned to lead with vision and wisdom.
“This is a defining moment in our history,” Oba Faforiji stated. “Ijesaland is entering a new chapter—one filled with promise, growth, and togetherness. Under his progressive leadership, we are certain to witness a rebirth of our heritage and a strengthening of our communal bond.”
He urged all Ijesa sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora, to rally around the Owa Obokun emphasizing that the future of the land rests in the collective commitment of its people.
“Our new king cannot do it alone. We must all unite traditional rulers, political stakeholders, religious leaders….. everybody to support his vision. Together, we can build a prosperous Ijesaland anchored on peace, innovation, and shared progress.”
Reaffirming his personal allegiance, Oba Faforiji pledged the loyalty of Amuye-Faforiji and promised to collaborate with the Owa Obokun in championing peace and inclusive development across Ijesaland.
He prayed God for divine guidance, a long, peaceful, and impactful reign for Owa Ajimoko III .
