Prince Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, born on September 19, 1948, into the royal Ajimoko family of Ijesaland in Osun State, is a distinguished entrepreneur, public servant, and philanthropist.
His journey of excellence began at Eko Boys’ High School, where he completed his secondary education between 1963 and 1967, followed by the Federal School of Sciences for his A-levels.
He later pursued a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at Howard University, Washington D.C., USA.
Upon his return to Nigeria in 1981, Prince Haastrup delved into politics, serving as the Deputy Governor of Osun State in 1990.
However, recognizing that his true calling lay outside the political sphere, he transitioned to business and founded ENL Consortium Limited in 2002.
Under his visionary leadership, the company has evolved into a conglomerate with operations in power, port management, hospitality, estate development, construction, quarrying, and gold mining.
Prince Haastrup has been a champion of public sector reforms in Nigeria, securing public-private partnership contracts with major organizations like the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA).
As a philanthropist, his foundation has provided educational scholarships to over 500 students locally and internationally, reflecting his unwavering commitment to human capital development.

Prince Clement Adesuyi Haastrup was elected as the Owa Obokun Ajimoko III and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland on December 27, 2024.
Representing the Bilaro-Oluodo Ruling House, he emerged victorious in a transparent and peaceful selection process conducted at the Ilesa West Local Government Secretariat along the Ilesa-Osogbo road.
Prince Haastrup defeated nine other contenders to ascend the throne, marking the beginning of a new era for Ijesaland.
The selection process involved key traditional leaders, including six Iwora Mefa and seven Agba Ijesa, such as the Obaala of Ijesaland, High Chief Ibitoye, and the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Olufemi Agunsoye.
Announcing the results, Mrs. Felicia Olabimtan, Head of Local Government Administration in Ilesa West, stated that six kingmakers cast their votes, with Prince Haastrup securing the highest. Traditional leaders, including the Ogboni of Ibokun, Oba Festus Awogboro, praised the process as peaceful and expressed optimism about the new era under Prince Haastrup’s reign.
Prince Haastrup’s emergence as Owa Obokun Ajimoko III signifies hope and progress for Ijesaland. With his extensive experience in governance, business, and community service, he is poised to lead the kingdom into a future of prosperity and unity.
