SOUTH WEST NIGERIA COUNCIL OF TRADITIONAL RULERS DIRECTOR GENERAL CONGRATULATES OWA OBOKUN ADIMULA OF IJESALAND

The Director General of the South West Nigeria Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR, the Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the newly crowned Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, on his ascension to the throne.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Owolabi, Oba Agbede described Oba Haastrup’s enthronement as a significant milestone for Ijesaland and the Yoruba people at large.

He emphasized the importance of unity among Yoruba descendants and called on the new monarch to emulate the exemplary leadership of the Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, who has been a strong advocate for the integration of Yoruba cultural values.

Oba Agbede underscored the need for the preservation and promotion of Yoruba traditions, urging Oba Haastrup to champion the cause of cultural heritage for future generations. “The integration of Yoruba cultural values must remain paramount to all Yoruba descendants,” he said.

The South West Nigeria Council of Traditional Rulers Director General also highlighted the critical role of traditional rulers in fostering peace, unity, and development within their domains.

He encouraged the Owa Obokun Adimula to work collaboratively with other monarchs in the South West region to achieve sustainable progress in Ijesaland and beyond.

Expressing his confidence in Oba Haastrup’s ability to lead, Oba Agbede wished the new king a long, peaceful, and prosperous reign.
